04/ 28/ 03 CowParade Sponsorship as Easy as 1-2-3: Herd Over 100 and Growing

ATLANTA, GA - April 28, 2003 - CowParade Atlanta officials announced today that the local herd has grown to more than 100 cows, thanks to the support of 38 sponsors. Additional sponsors are still being signed up to grow the herd, and sponsoring a cow is as easy as 1-2-3.

CowParade, the world's largest public art exhibition, makes its Southeastern debut in Atlanta this summer. The life-sized fiberglass cows will be displayed throughout the city from June through September.

"We're excited to be able to announce the birth of our 100th cow," said Evelyn Ashley, chairman of CowParade Atlanta. "We're extremely grateful to the local business community for supporting this event. To have 100 cows in the barn with two months remaining before we set them free on the streets of Atlanta demonstrates the value of sponsoring this unique public art event."

Sponsoring a cow is a simple three-step process.

  1. Decide how many cows you want to sponsor. Each cow will be displayed as part of a herd, and more than 2 million people will see the cows.

  2. Select a design. There are more than 500 designs reflective of Atlanta, the South and different types of local businesses that viewers will find fun. Professional and amateur artists from throughout Georgia will paint and decorate the life-sized fiberglass cows.

  3. Make the most of your sponsorship. Incorporate the cow into existing marketing and advertising endeavors. The ideas are endless.

Corporations, community groups and individuals can sponsor cows beginning at $7,500 each. CowParade handles the logistics of getting the cow to the artist, the cow painted and the cow displayed in highly trafficked areas, including city streets, buildings and shopping malls, throughout the summer.

CowParade Atlanta 2003 is the most recent incarnation of the world's largest public art exhibition designed to celebrate the spirit of fun, art and community. Following the exhibit, many of the cows will be sold through a live auction to be held at the Georgia World Congress Center on Nov. 13, with the remainder sold by an online auction. Proceeds from the auctions benefit the Southeast Division of the American Cancer Society through the Cattle Barons' Ball and TechBridge, a non-profit organization providing high quality, subsidized technology consulting and development services to Georgia charitable organizations.

CowParade Atlanta is presented by Chick-fil-A and hosted by McKenna Long & Aldridge with support from corporate partner Accenture. CowParade media sponsors are the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Star94.
